Maite Ballester

Maite has nearly 30 years of investment experience. Before co-founding Nexxus Iberia, she managed the Spanish arm of British fund 3i. She has led more than 45 transactions across Spain and Portugal, including two IPOs. Previously, she worked for Booz Allen Hamilton as a strategy consultant in Mexico, the UK, Spain and Portugal. Maite holds an MBA from Columbia University and has graduated cum laude from Boston College with a BSc. In Finance and Political Science.

She is currently an independent director at Cellnex, where she also oversees the audit, risk management, sustainability and remuneration committees,. She sits on the advisory boards of ING Spain, Grupo Antolin and SONAE Portugal.

 

She has served as an independent director at Repsol and Prisa in recent years and as a member of their audit, remuneration, and sustainability committees. She was also an independent director and chair of the audit committee at Grupo Lar. She is a member of the advisory board of AON Spain.

 

She chaired ASCRI (Spanish Venture Capital Association) from 2010 to 2012 and is a member of the Institute of Directors and Administrators (ICA), the IWF (International Women´s Forum), Women Corporate Directors, and former president of level 20 in Spain, an organisation that support the presence of women in the private equity and venture capital sector. She is also a trustee of the Junior Trustee Foundation.
